Indications
Keplozol (Ketoconazole) is indicated for the treatment of various fungal infections. It is effective in the management of systemic and superficial mycoses, such as candidiasis, dermatophytosis, and other mycotic infections caused by sensitive fungi. It is also used in the treatment of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients, as well as in the management of certain skin fungal infections. Its use is recommended in cases where other antifungals have not been effective or in situations where more aggressive treatment is required.
Composition
Each tablet contains 200 mg of Ketoconazole as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Keplozol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ketoconazole or to any of the components of the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease, as it may worsen liver function. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or lactating women, unless the benefits outweigh the potential risks.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Keplozol to patients with a history of liver disease or to those receiving other medications that may affect liver function. Regular monitoring of liver function during treatment is important. Additionally, simultaneous use of medications that may interact with Ketoconazole should be avoided, as they may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
