Indications
Hydrocortisone is indicated in the treatment of various conditions requiring an anti-inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive effect. It is used in autoimmune diseases, severe allergic conditions, certain types of dermatitis, and in the management of adrenal insufficiency. It is also used in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and in the context of acute inflammatory reactions. It is essential that its use be supervised by a healthcare professional who will determine the dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's specific condition.
Composition
Each Hydrocortisone ampoule contains 100 mg of hydrocortisone as the active ingredient. It is complemented by excipients that ensure the stability and efficacy of the medication.
Contraindications
Hydrocortisone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to hydrocortisone or any of the excipients. Its use should also be avoided in uncontrolled systemic infections and in situations of untreated active tuberculosis. Its use is not recommended in patients with active peptic ulcer, severe renal insufficiency, and certain psychiatric disorders.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering hydrocortisone to patients with diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, osteoporosis, and those undergoing anticoagulant treatment. Regular monitoring for side effects is recommended, as well as dose adjustments in case of complications. Treatment discontinuation should be gradual, according to medical instructions, to avoid adrenal insufficiency syndrome.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
