Indications
Hydrochlorothiazide is indicated in the treatment of essential hypertension and in the management of edema associated with congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis, and nephrotic syndrome. Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule, resulting in an increase in urinary excretion of sodium and water, thus contributing to the reduction of blood pressure and the control of intravascular volume. Additionally, it can be used as an adjuvant treatment in combination with other antihypertensives to optimize blood pressure control.
Composition
Each hydrochlorothiazide tablet contains 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose, starch, talc, magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Hydrochlorothiazide is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of anuria or severe renal failure. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gout, diabetes mellitus, or liver disease.
Precautions
It is important to monitor blood electrolytes, especially potassium, as hydrochlorothiazide can cause hypokalemia. Likewise, care should be taken in patients with a history of sulfonamide allergy. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and renal function is recommended during treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
