Indications
Gramaxin is an antibiotic indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections susceptible to its action. It is used in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. Its combination of amoxicillin and clavulanate overcomes bacterial resistance, increasing its effectiveness in treating complicated infections. It is important to note that the use of this medication should be based on culture and susceptibility tests when possible, to ensure its effectiveness in treatment.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Amoxicillin 250 mg and Clavulanic acid 62.5 mg.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the medication or to other antibiotics of the penicillin group. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of jaundice or hepatic dysfunction associated with the use of amoxicillin and clavulanate.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis; in those with renal insufficiency, as well as in those receiving anticoagulant therapy. It is important to monitor liver function during prolonged treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Once the suspension is opened, it is recommended to use it within 14 days and keep it refrigerated.
