Indications
Gencatrol is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It is used in the management of postoperative pain, pain in cancer patients, and chronic pain that does not respond to other analgesics. This medication acts on pain receptors in the central nervous system, providing effective relief. Its use is recommended in situations where pain control is required that cannot be managed solely with non-opioid analgesics.
Composition
Each Gencatrol capsule contains 50 mg of Tramadol in the form of Tramadol hydrochloride, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Gencatrol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tramadol or to any other component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients who are undergoing treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or to those who have consumed alcohol or drugs that depress the central nervous system. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe respiratory diseases, uncontrolled epilepsy, and in those with a history of substance abuse.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of seizure disorders, liver or kidney problems, and those who are taking other medications that may interact with Tramadol. It is important to monitor patients for the appearance of symptoms of dependence or abuse. Its use is not recommended in children under 12 years of age and in older adults without proper medical evaluation.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
