Indications

Gencatrol is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It is used in clinical situations where pain management is essential, such as in patients with postoperative pain, oncological pain, or chronic pain in specific conditions. The analgesic action of tramadol occurs through the modulation of opioid receptors in the central nervous system and by the inhibition of the reuptake of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and norepinephrine.

Composition

Each Gencatrol capsule contains 50 mg of tramadol as the active ingredient. Excipients include corn starch, gelatin, and other components that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.

Contraindications

Gencatrol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tramadol or to any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with acute intoxication from alcohol, hypnotics, opioid analgesics, or drugs of abuse. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe respiratory diseases, as well as in those who have a history of seizures.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of seizures, opioid dependence, or those who are being treated with medications that can induce seizures. Likewise, care should be taken in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, as they may require dose adjustments. The administration of Gencatrol must be supervised by a physician, who will evaluate the risk-benefit ratio in each particular case.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and protect from light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
