Indications

Gelprim is indicated for the treatment of essential arterial hypertension and angina pectoris. Nifedipine, its active ingredient, acts as a calcium channel blocker, which allows the relaxation of vascular smooth muscles, thus decreasing vascular resistance and blood pressure. Furthermore, it is effective in the management of hypertension in patients with coronary artery disease.

Composition

Each capsule contains Nifedipine 10 mg as the active ingredient. Excipients: corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide.

Contraindications

Gelprim is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to nifedipine or any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of severe hepatic insufficiency and in patients with a history of unstable angina or recent myocardial infarction. Its use during pregnancy and lactation must be carefully evaluated.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with congestive heart failure, severe arterial hypertension, as well as in those with liver or kidney problems. It is advisable to regularly monitor blood pressure and heart rate during treatment. Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages, as they can enhance the effects of the medication.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature between 15 and 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
