Indications
Gabapentin is indicated for the treatment of partial seizures, with or without secondary generalization, in adults and children over 12 years of age. It is also used as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia. In addition, gabapentin has been used in the management of neuropathic pain and in the treatment of anxiety disorders. It is important that the use of this medication is supervised by a physician, who will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's needs.
Composition
Each 300 mg Ultra Capsule contains:
- Gabapentin: 300 mg
- Excipients: sufficient quantity to complete the capsule
Contraindications
Gabapentin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to gabapentin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of behavioral disorders or severe kidney problems.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with renal insufficiency, as dose adjustment may be necessary. Likewise, it is recommended to monitor patients' mood, as changes in behavior and suicidal thoughts have been reported in some cases. Treatment should not be interrupted abruptly, as this may increase the risk of seizures.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
