Indications

Flocet is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders in adults, as well as for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in both adults and children over 7 years of age. It is also used in the management of panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, and for the treatment of bulimia nervosa. Fluoxetine acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, which helps to improve mood, reduce anxiety, and compulsive behavior.

Composition

Each capsule contains: Fluoxetine (as hydrochloride) 20 mg. Excipients: starch, talc, gelatin, titanium dioxide, colorants.

Contraindications

Flocet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluoxetine or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients who are using monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), due to the risk of serious adverse reactions. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of mania or hypomania.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Flocet to patients with a history of seizures, liver disorders, or those at risk of suicide. It is important to monitor patients during the first few weeks of treatment, as well as with any dose change. The use of this medication during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended without proper medical supervision.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
