Indications
Ferval is indicated for the treatment of iron-deficiency anemia in patients with iron deficiency. It is used in cases of hemorrhage, eating disorders, or as a supplement in situations of increased iron requirement, such as during pregnancy and lactation. This medication contributes to the formation of red blood cells and improves hemoglobin levels in the blood, thus helping to restore the patient's energy and vitality.
Composition
Each Ferval tablet contains 200 mg of ferrous fumarate, as well as the necessary excipients for its formulation.
Contraindications
Ferval is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to ferrous fumarate or any component of the formula. It should also be avoided in cases of iron overload, hemochromatosis, and hemosiderosis. Its use is not recommended in patients with anemia not due to iron deficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with gastrointestinal disorders, particularly those with ulcers or inflammatory bowel diseases. It is advisable to monitor iron and hemoglobin levels during prolonged treatment. Ferval should not be administered in combination with other iron supplements without appropriate medical supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
