Indications
Fenofibrate is indicated in the treatment of hypertriglyceridemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is used to reduce high levels of triglycerides and LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol in patients at risk of cardiovascular disease. This medication can be useful in combination with a lipid-lowering diet to improve the lipid profile and decrease the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with metabolic syndrome or type 2 diabetes.
Composition
Each Fenofibrate capsule contains 160 mg of fenofibrate as the active ingredient. Excipients include: gelatin, glycerin, titanium dioxide, among others, which allow for the proper formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Fenofibrate is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fenofibrate or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of active liver disease, severe kidney disease, or in patients with acute pancreatitis. Likewise, its use is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless deemed strictly necessary by the physician.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those who are being treated with other medications that may cause myopathy or rhabdomyolysis. Regular monitoring of lipid levels and liver function is essential during fenofibrate treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
