Indications

Fenofibrate is indicated as adjunctive therapy to diet for the treatment of patients with hypertriglyceridemia and mixed dyslipidemia. This medication works by reducing triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels, and may increase HDL cholesterol levels. Its use is suggested for patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease who cannot control their lipid levels with diet and exercise alone. It is important that its use is under medical supervision, and that periodic monitoring of lipid parameters is performed to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment.

Composition

Each Fenofibrate capsule contains 160 mg of fenofibrate as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients such as gelatin, glycerin, and others that facilitate the product's formulation.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fenofibrate or any of the components of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in individuals with active liver disease, severe renal insufficiency, and those with gallbladder problems.
