Indications

Ezetimibe/Simvastatin is indicated for the treatment of patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (type IIa) and mixed dyslipidemia (type IIb) as an adjunct to diet. This medication is used in patients who cannot control their LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels with lifestyle and diet changes alone. It is also indicated for reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with a history of coronary heart disease and additional risk factors.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Ezetimibe 10 mg and Simvastatin 20 mg.

Contraindications

Should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It is contraindicated in patients with active liver disease or persistent elevations of liver transaminases of unknown origin. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Precautions

Precautions should be taken in patients with a history of liver disease, kidney failure, or those who consume excessive alcohol. It is recommended to monitor liver function and the presence of myopathy symptoms. In addition, interactions with other medications that may increase the risk of adverse effects should be considered.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
