Indications
Ezetimibe/Simvastatin is indicated for the treatment of patients with primary hypercholesterolemia (dyslipidemia) and for the reduction of cardiovascular risk in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease. This medication acts in a dual manner: ezetimibe decreases the intestinal absorption of cholesterol, while simvastatin inhibits cholesterol synthesis in the liver. It is used as an adjunct to an appropriate diet to control LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as to increase HDL cholesterol in combination with lifestyle modifications.
Composition
Each tablet contains: 10 mg Ezetimibe and 20 mg Simvastatin. Excipients: Lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formulation, in those with active liver disease, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Its use is not recommended in patients who require treatment with certain medications that may increase the risk of myopathy.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, muscle problems, or in those who consume excessive alcohol. Regular monitoring of transaminase levels and muscle function is recommended. It is important to inform the doctor about all medications being taken to avoid potentially dangerous interactions.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
