Indications
Exicort is indicated for the treatment of acute pain, as well as for the management of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. This medication is particularly useful in patients requiring effective pain control associated with musculoskeletal and joint conditions. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of acute gout and in the management of postoperative pain. Its use is recommended in patients who have not responded adequately to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory treatments.
Composition
Each Exicort tablet contains 120 mg of etoricoxib as the active ingredient. Excipients include lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Exicort is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to etoricoxib or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of active peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe heart failure, and in those who have experienced severe adverse reactions to other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Its use in the third trimester of pregnancy is not recommended.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those who consume excessive alcohol. Renal function should be monitored in patients receiving prolonged treatment. Furthermore, this medication should not be used concomitantly with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
