Indications

Evicovac is indicated for the treatment of partial epileptic seizures, with or without secondary generalization, in adult and pediatric patients 4 years of age and older. This medication is also used as adjunctive therapy for juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and for the treatment of generalized tonic-clonic epilepsy in adults and adolescents. Levetiracetam, as the active ingredient, acts by modulating neurotransmitter release and stabilizing electrical activity in the brain, which helps control seizures.

Composition

Each Evicovac tablet contains 1000 mg of levetiracetam as the active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients necessary for the tablet formulation.

Contraindications

Evicovac is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levetiracetam or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency without appropriate dose adjustment.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Evicovac to patients with a history of depression or behavioral disorders, as mood and behavioral changes have been reported. Regular monitoring of renal function is recommended during treatment. Also, abrupt discontinuation of treatment should be avoided, as it may precipitate an increase in seizure frequency.

Storage

Store the medication in its original packaging, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
