Indications
Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic indicated for the treatment of various medical conditions. It is primarily used in heart failure, where it helps reduce fluid retention and improves cardiac function. It is also employed in the management of arterial hypertension, acting to lower blood pressure and prevent associated complications.
Additionally, it is indicated in the treatment of nephrotic syndrome and in certain cases of hepatic cirrhosis, where fluid accumulation is a significant problem. Spironolactone can be used to treat hirsutism in women and hormonal acne, by antagonizing the action of androgens in the body.
Composition
Each tablet contains 25 mg of spironolactone as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Spironolactone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to this medication or any of its components. It should not be used in cases of anuria, severe acute or chronic kidney disease, and in patients with untreated hyperkalemia. Its use should be avoided in patients with primary adrenal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those receiving other medications that may affect potassium levels. It is important to monitor electrolytes periodically during treatment. Dose adjustment is recommended in elderly individuals and in those with impaired renal function.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
