Indications

Esomeprazole is indicated for the treatment of diseases related to gastric hypersecretion, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis caused by reflux, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. This medication acts as a proton pump inhibitor, reducing acid production in the stomach and thus alleviating the symptoms associated with these conditions. It is also used in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with specific antibiotics, to help prevent gastric ulcers.

Composition

Each tablet contains 40 mg of esomeprazole, as well as necessary excipients for the formulation.

Contraindications

Esomeprazole is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to esomeprazole, other proton pump inhibitors, or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those who present symptoms of peptic ulcer or gastric malignancy. It is important to perform medical monitoring in case of prolonged treatment, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal infections and affect the absorption of certain nutrients, such as vitamin B12.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
