Indications

Escitalopram is indicated for the treatment of major depressive episodes and generalized anxiety disorder. This medication works by modulating serotonin activity in the central nervous system, which helps improve mood and reduce anxiety. It can also be used in the treatment of panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), always under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Composition

Each Escitalopram 10 mg tablet contains:

  • Escitalopram (as oxalate) 10 mg
  • Excipients: Lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to escitalopram or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients who have received MAOIs in the last two weeks. Caution is recommended in patients with a history of manic-depressive disorders.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with a history of seizures, liver or kidney disorders, as well as in those at risk of suicide. Regular medical follow-up is essential to assess efficacy and detect possible adverse effects.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
