Indications

Escitalopram is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders and generalized anxiety disorders. This medication acts on neurotransmitters in the brain, specifically serotonin, helping to improve mood, reduce anxiety, and alleviate symptoms associated with these disorders. It has been shown to be effective in reducing anxiety episodes and improving the quality of life of patients suffering from these conditions. It is recommended that treatment be supervised by a physician and that the patient follows the specific instructions provided to achieve the best therapeutic results.

Composition

Each Escitalopram tablet contains 10 mg of escitalopram as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that promote its formulation and stability.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to escitalopram or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and in patients receiving thioridazine. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of manic episodes or bipolar disorder.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of seizure disorders, liver disease, or kidney disease. During treatment, patients should be monitored for the emergence of suicidal symptoms, especially at the beginning of treatment or when adjusting the dose. The use of this medication in pregnant or breastfeeding women is not recommended without prior medical consent.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
