Indications
Recombinant Human Erythropoietin is indicated for the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney failure, as well as in those receiving hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis treatment. It is also used in patients with cancer-related anemia, in whom the goal is to reduce the need for blood transfusions during chemotherapy treatment. This medication works by stimulating the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow, thereby improving tissue oxygenation and patient well-being.
Composition
Each ampoule contains Recombinant Human Erythropoietin as the active ingredient. They are presented in a sterile formulation suitable for parenteral administration.
Contraindications
Recombinant Human Erythropoietin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to erythropoietin or to any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be used in patients with uncontrolled hypertension or in those with a history of thromboembolic events related to erythropoietin use.
Precautions
Hemoglobin levels should be monitored to avoid an excessive increase that could lead to cardiovascular complications. In addition, special care should be taken in patients with cardiovascular diseases, as the increase in red cell mass can increase the risk of adverse events. It is important to periodically evaluate blood pressure and make dose adjustments as necessary.
Storage
Store in refrigeration between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
