Indications

Enalapril is indicated in the treatment of arterial hypertension, as it acts as an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, which helps to lower blood pressure. It is also used in the treatment of congestive heart failure and in reducing mortality in patients with left ventricular dysfunction after an acute myocardial infarction. Furthermore, it can be prescribed for diabetic nephropathy in type 1 diabetic patients, contributing to kidney protection.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Enalapril (as enalapril maleate) 10 mg, Excipients: Lactose, Starch, Microcrystalline cellulose, Magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

Enalapril is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to enalapril or any other ACE inhibitor. It should not be administered in cases of bilateral renal artery stenosis or in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with ACE inhibitors. Likewise, it is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with renal insufficiency, collagen diseases, and in those undergoing diuretic treatment. Renal function and serum potassium levels should be monitored during treatment. It is important to inform patients about the possibility of adverse effects such as dizziness or hypotension, especially after the first dose.

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
