Indications
Enalapril is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension, either as a single therapy or in combination with other antihypertensives. It is also used in the management of congestive heart failure, as well as for renal protection in diabetic patients. This medication acts as an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, which contributes to the reduction of blood pressure and improves cardiac function.
Composition
Each tablet contains 10 mg of enalapril (as enalapril maleate) as an active ingredient. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to enalapril or to any other ACE inhibitor. It should not be used in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or in those with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with ACE inhibitors. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, heart disease, diabetes, and in those undergoing dialysis. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and renal function is important during treatment. Discontinue treatment if severe hypotension, angioedema, or allergic reactions occur.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
