Indications
Emipril is a medication indicated for the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism in patients undergoing major orthopedic surgery, as well as in those with medical conditions that predispose them to the formation of blood clots. It is also used in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Its action is based on the inhibition of coagulation factors, which reduces the risk of thrombus formation. Its use is recommended in patients with a history of thrombosis or in clinical situations where there is a high risk of clot formation.
Composition
Each Emipril syringe contains 40 mg of enoxaparin sodium, as well as excipients that facilitate its administration and product stability.
Contraindications
Emipril is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to enoxaparin or any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, active bleeding, and in those with medical conditions that predispose to severe bleeding.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Emipril in patients at risk of bleeding, including those with renal dysfunction, uncontrolled hypertension, or those receiving treatment with other anticoagulants. It is important to monitor renal function and platelet count during treatment. It should not be used in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or acetylsalicylic acid without medical supervision.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C (59-86 °F), and protect from light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
