Indications

Dylofen Retard is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. Felodipine, its active ingredient, acts as a selective L-type calcium channel antagonist, which results in the relaxation and dilation of blood vessels, thereby decreasing peripheral vascular resistance. This medication is used as part of a comprehensive approach to hypertension management, which may include lifestyle changes and other therapeutic interventions. It is important to follow the prescribing physician's instructions to optimize blood pressure control and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.

Composition

Each Dylofen Retard tablet contains 5 mg of felodipine and excipients necessary for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to felodipine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe congestive heart failure, sick sinus syndrome, severe bradycardia, or in those receiving treatment with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hepatic or renal insufficiency. It is advisable to monitor blood pressure regularly and adjust the dose as needed.
