Indications
Duloxetine is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders and generalized anxiety disorders. It is also used in the management of diabetic neuropathic pain and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake, which contributes to an improved mood and reduced pain in patients with specific conditions.
Composition
Each capsule of Duloxetine 60 mg contains: Duloxetine (as hydrochloride) 60 mg, in addition to excipients such as gelatin, titanium dioxide, and other components that allow for the formulation of the medicine in capsule form.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to duloxetine or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients who are receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or to those with a history of manic or hypomanic episodes.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of liver disorders, severe kidney disease, or those at risk of suicide. Furthermore, care should be taken when discontinuing treatment to avoid withdrawal symptoms. It is important to monitor patients for any changes in their mood or behavior.
Storage
Store the medicine in its original packaging, at room temperature (between 15 and 30°C), in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
