Indications
Dosteril is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, as it acts as an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Its use is essential in patients with essential hypertension and can be used in combination with other antihypertensives to achieve optimal blood pressure control. Additionally, it is used in the prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients, as well as in the treatment of congestive heart failure, improving patients' quality of life.
Composition
Each Dosteril tablet contains 10 mg of lisinopril as an active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the drug's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to lisinopril or any other component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with ACE inhibitors. It is also contraindicated in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or in those with severe renal failure.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with renal failure, collagen diseases, dehydration, or hypovolemia, as the use of Dosteril can worsen these conditions. Renal function and electrolytes should be monitored in patients undergoing prolonged treatment. Likewise, in diabetic patients or those undergoing treatment with diuretics, adequate medical follow-up is essential.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
