Indications
Dorzolamide/Timolol is indicated for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This medication combines two agents that help to decrease the production of aqueous humor, thereby reducing intraocular pressure. It is especially useful for patients who have not achieved adequate intraocular pressure control with a single therapeutic agent. The administration of this drug must be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will determine the dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's clinical needs.
Composition
Each ml of solution contains: 20 mg of dorzolamide (as dorzolamide hydrochloride) and 5 mg of timolol (as timolol maleate). Excipients: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, purified water.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe bronchial asthma, severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), severe bradycardia, heart block, and in those receiving treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with renal insufficiency, heart disease, and in those who are being treated with other antihypertensive medications. Careful monitoring of intraocular pressure and cardiac function is recommended during treatment. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate medical supervision.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
