Indications
Dimethyper is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections that require the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics. It is used in the management of complicated intra-abdominal infections, lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as infections in immunocompromised patients. In addition, it is effective in the treatment of bacterial meningitis and can be used in combination with other antibiotics to improve its efficacy in certain infections. The administration of Meropenem must be carried out under the supervision of a physician, who will determine the dose and duration of treatment based on the severity of the infection and the patient's response to the antibiotic.
Composition
Each vial of Dimethyper contains 1 g of meropenem as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to meropenem or any of the product's excipients. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics, such as penicillins or cephalosporins.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with compromised renal function, as the dose may require adjustment. Likewise, the risk of seizures in patients with a history of neurological disorders should be considered. Periodic renal function tests are recommended during prolonged treatment. The administration of Dimethyper should be monitored to detect possible adverse reactions.
Storage
Store at temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
