Indications

Digoxin is indicated for the treatment of various cardiac conditions. Its use is essential in patients with congestive heart failure, where it helps improve heart contractility and reduce symptoms related to this condition. Additionally, it is used in the management of certain arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter, by helping to control heart rate and restore sinus rhythm. It is important that the use of digoxin be supervised by a physician, who will determine the appropriate dose based on the individual characteristics of the patient and their response to treatment.

Composition

Each ampoule contains: Digoxin 0.5 mg, excipients q.s.p. 2 ml.

Contraindications

Digoxin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to digoxin or any of its components, as well as in those with second and third-degree atrioventricular block without a pacemaker. It should also be avoided in cases of obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and in patients with digitalis toxicity.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with compromised renal function, as digoxin is primarily eliminated by the kidneys. Likewise, it is essential to monitor serum digoxin levels to avoid toxicity, especially in elderly patients or those taking medications that may interact with digoxin. Regular monitoring of pulse and blood pressure is required during treatment.

Store at room temperature, in a cool and dry place, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
