Indications
Difenidol is indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting, as well as for the control of symptoms associated with motion sickness and vertigo conditions. This medication acts as an antiemetic and can be used in postoperative situations or in chemotherapy treatments where patients experience severe nausea episodes. Its use is recommended under the supervision of a physician to ensure its effectiveness and safety in the treatment of these conditions.
Composition
Each Difenidol ampoule contains 40 mg of difenidol as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its administration and absorption.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to difenidol or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with angle-closure glaucoma, intestinal obstruction, or gastrointestinal motility problems. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in its administration to patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, as Difenidol can cause adverse effects on heart function. Likewise, it is important to consider its use in older patients, who may be more susceptible to side effects. It is recommended to monitor the response to treatment and adjust the dose if necessary.
