Indications
Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine primarily used for the treatment of allergic symptoms, such as allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and allergic conjunctivitis. It is also indicated for the relief of common cold symptoms, such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and itching. Additionally, it is used in the prevention and treatment of nausea and dizziness, particularly in cases of motion sickness. In some cases, diphenhydramine is used to induce sleep in patients with occasional insomnia and for pre-operative sedation in surgical procedures.
Composition
Each capsule contains: Diphenhydramine 25 mg.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diphenhydramine or any component of the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, or in cases of urinary retention. Furthermore, its use in children under 6 years of age should be evaluated with caution.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, obstructive respiratory diseases, and in those who consume alcohol or medications that act on the central nervous system. Driving vehicles and operating heavy machinery should be avoided after consumption, as it may cause drowsiness.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
