Indications

Diazepam is indicated in the treatment of anxiety disorders, as well as in the management of panic attacks. It is also used in the short-term treatment of severe anxiety and as an adjunct in the treatment of convulsive disorders. This medication can be used as a pre-operative sedative and for the management of alcohol withdrawal symptoms. In addition, it has been used for muscle relaxation in acute conditions and in the treatment of muscle spasms. It is important that the use of diazepam be supervised by a physician, given its potential for dependence and its interaction with other drugs.

Composition

Each Diazepam Psicofarma tablet contains 10 mg of diazepam as the active ingredient. Inactive ingredients: Lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to diazepam or to any component of the formula, as well as in those with a history of substance abuse. It should not be administered in cases of severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea, myasthenia gravis, and during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with liver or kidney diseases or a history of depression. Prolonged use of diazepam can lead to tolerance and dependence. Combination with alcohol and other central nervous system depressants should be avoided, as it can potentiate sedative effects.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children and protect from moisture and light.
