Indications
Dexlansoprazole is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in adults, as well as for the healing of erosive esophagitis caused by GERD. It is also used in the management of symptoms related to acid reflux, such as heartburn and regurgitation. This medication works by inhibiting acid secretion in the stomach, providing symptom relief and promoting the recovery of the esophagus damaged by gastric acid.
Composition
Each capsule contains 60 mg of dexlansoprazole as an active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Dexlansoprazole is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dexlansoprazole, other proton pump inhibitors, or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to this type of medication.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those with a history of gastrointestinal problems, such as gastric or duodenal ulcers. It is important to carefully evaluate the risk-benefit ratio before starting treatment in these populations. Additionally, medical follow-up is recommended for patients requiring prolonged treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
