Indications
Desvenlafaxine LP is indicated for the treatment of major depressive episodes in adults, as well as for the management of generalized anxiety disorder. This medication acts as a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, which helps to improve mood and reduce anxiety symptoms. It has also been used in the treatment of neuropathic pain, as it has been shown to help relieve chronic pain in some patients. It is important that the prescription and follow-up of the treatment be carried out by a doctor, who will evaluate the suitability of its use in each particular case.
Composition
Each tablet contains 100 mg of desvenlafaxine and appropriate excipients for its formulation.
Contraindications
Desvenlafaxine LP is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to desvenlafaxine or to any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients with severe liver disorders.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of high blood pressure, seizure disorders, or those taking other medications that may increase the risk of adverse effects. In addition, care should be taken in elderly patients, who may be more susceptible to side effects. Regular medical follow-up is essential during treatment.
