Indications

Demesynt is a medication indicated for sedation in adult patients in intensive care settings. It is used in patients requiring mechanical ventilation and in surgical procedures that demand precise sedation control. In addition, it has been used for sedation in pediatric patients in certain circumstances. The drug acts on alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, providing a sedative, analgesic, and anxiolytic effect, allowing for adequate management of anxiety and pain in critical situations.

Composition

Each ampule contains: 2000 Mcg of dexmedetomidine, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Demesynt is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dexmedetomidine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe bradycardia, second or third-degree heart block, or those with decompensated heart failure. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless the benefit outweighs the risk.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, or those receiving medications that may interact with dexmedetomidine. It is essential to monitor blood pressure and heart rate during treatment, as well as to be alert for possible adverse reactions. Continuous evaluation of the patient's clinical status is recommended.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
