Indications

Deflazacort is indicated in the treatment of various medical conditions that require an anti-inflammatory and/or immunosuppressive effect. It is commonly used in cases of autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also indicated in the treatment of inflammatory conditions such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Furthermore, it can be useful in the management of severe allergic reactions and in the treatment of hematological diseases such as some forms of anemia. In pediatrics, it is used for the treatment of diseases that require steroid therapy, always under medical supervision. It is important that the indication and use of this medication be determined by a healthcare professional, considering the patient's condition and clinical status.

Composition

Each Deflazacort tablet contains 30 mg of deflazacort as the active ingredient. Excipients are inactive components that allow for the formulation of the medication and facilitate its administration.

Contraindications

Deflazacort is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. It should also be avoided in patients with untreated systemic infections, systemic fungal diseases, and in those with a history of active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this medication.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with hypertension, diabetes mellitus, heart disease, and in those who are being treated with other immunosuppressive medications. Continuous medical monitoring during treatment is essential, as abrupt discontinuation of the medication can cause adverse effects.
