Indications

Decorex (dexamethasone) is indicated in the treatment of various medical conditions that require the use of corticosteroids. It is used in situations such as:

  • Autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Severe allergic conditions, such as allergic rhinitis or dermatitis.
  • Treatment of inflammatory diseases, including bronchitis and asthma.
  • As part of the treatment in cases of anaphylactic shock.
  • In the management of certain types of cancer, as part of a chemotherapy regimen.

It is important that the use of Decorex is supervised by a physician, who will determine the dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's specific condition.

Composition

Each Decorex ampoule contains 8 mg of dexamethasone in 2 ml of injectable solution.

Contraindications

Decorex is contraindicated in patients with:

  • Known hypersensitivity to dexamethasone or any component of the formula.
  • Uncontrolled systemic infections.
  • Active peptic ulcer.
  • Viral diseases, such as chickenpox and ocular herpes simplex.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with:

  • Diabetes mellitus, as corticosteroids can raise blood glucose levels.
  • Arterial hypertension.
  • Cardiovascular diseases.
  • Osteoporosis, as prolonged use can increase the risk of fractures.
