Indications
Coxaclan (Dicloxacillin) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, such as respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, osteomyelitis, and endocarditis. It is particularly effective against infections caused by penicillin-resistant staphylococci and other gram-positive bacteria. Its use is recommended for patients with severe infections requiring specific and effective antibacterial treatment.
Composition
Each capsule of Coxaclan contains 500 mg of Dicloxacillin, along with excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Dicloxacillin, other penicillin-group antibiotics, or any of the formula's components. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to antibiotics.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Dicloxacillin to patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis, as well as those with renal insufficiency. Monitoring of renal function and the patient's clinical response during treatment is recommended. Prolonged use of the medication may lead to the development of bacterial resistance.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
