Indications

Chlorthalidone is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension. It is also used in the management of congestive heart failure and in patients with edema associated with conditions such as hepatic cirrhosis or nephrotic syndrome. Its diuretic action helps reduce blood pressure and treat fluid retention, thus contributing to improving patients' quality of life.

Composition

Each tablet contains 50 mg of chlorthalidone as an active ingredient. Excipients: starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and others.

Contraindications

Chlorthalidone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to chlorthalidone or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with anuria, severe dehydration, or uncorrected electrolyte imbalances. Likewise, it should be avoided in cases of severe renal failure.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using chlorthalidone in patients with a history of gout, diabetes mellitus, and in those who require strict electrolyte control due to the diuretic effects of the medication. It is important to monitor renal function and serum potassium levels during treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
