Indications
Cloropron is indicated for the treatment and prophylaxis of malaria caused by the Plasmodium parasite, as well as for the management of autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. It is also used in the treatment of amoebic infections in the intestine. Chloroquine works by interfering with parasite replication and reducing inflammation, so its use should be supervised by a healthcare professional.
Composition
Each Cloropron tablet contains:
- Chloroquine (as chloroquine phosphate) 150 mg.

Contraindications
Cloropron is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to chloroquine or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of chloroquine retinopathy, severe liver dysfunction, or in patients with porphyria.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, or those receiving other medications that may interact with chloroquine. Regular monitoring of liver and eye function is important during prolonged treatment. Use in pregnant or breastfeeding women is not recommended unless the potential benefit outweighs the risk.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
