Indications
Clorixan is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by viruses sensitive to acyclovir. It is used in the management of herpes simplex virus infections, both primary and recurrent, and in herpes zoster. Its efficacy has been demonstrated in patients with cutaneous and mucosal infections, as well as in the treatment of infections in immunocompromised patients. Acyclovir works by inhibiting viral DNA replication, which contributes to reducing the severity and duration of symptoms associated with these viral infections.
Composition
Each Clorixan tablet contains 400 mg of acyclovir as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to acyclovir or any of the components of the formula. Likewise, its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal failure without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of neurological diseases, dehydration, or impaired renal function. It is essential to monitor renal function in patients receiving prolonged treatment with acyclovir, as well as in those who show signs of toxicity. During treatment, adequate hydration should be ensured to prevent crystalluria.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
