Indications

Clopidogrel is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients with acute coronary syndrome, including myocardial infarction and unstable angina. It is also used in patients who have suffered an ischemic stroke or a transient ischemic attack (TIA), as well as in those with peripheral arterial disease. Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of platelet aggregation, thereby reducing the risk of thrombus formation in the cardiovascular system.

Composition

Each Clopidogrel tablet contains 75 mg of clopidogrel (as clopidogrel bisulfate) as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients such as microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, and magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clopidogrel or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in cases of active bleeding, such as gastrointestinal ulcers or intracranial hemorrhages. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering clopidogrel to patients at risk of bleeding, including those with bleeding disorders or who are receiving other drugs that increase the risk of bleeding. Regular monitoring of liver function is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease. Additionally, interaction with other medications that may affect clopidogrel's efficacy should be considered.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
