Indications
Clopidogrel is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients with established coronary artery disease, including myocardial infarction, stroke, or peripheral artery disease. It is used in patients who have suffered an acute myocardial infarction and in those who have undergone coronary surgical procedures such as angioplasty. It is also indicated in patients with acute coronary syndrome, without ST-segment elevation (NSTEMI), and those with unstable angina. Clopidogrel acts as a platelet aggregation inhibitor, reducing the risk of clot formation and improving blood flow in affected blood vessels.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Clopidogrel (as clopidogrel bisulfate) 75 mg, excipients: corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Clopidogrel is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clopidogrel or any of its components. It is also contraindicated in patients with active pathological bleeding, such as gastrointestinal ulcers or intracranial hemorrhages. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, or those receiving concomitant treatment with other medications that may increase the risk of bleeding. It is important to evaluate liver function before starting treatment. The physician should be informed of any other medications the patient is taking to avoid interactions.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
