Indications
Clindamycin 300 mg is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is effective in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as intra-abdominal infections. This antibiotic is also used in the treatment of some bone and joint infections. Clindamycin works by inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria, which results in the arrest of bacterial growth and reproduction. Its use is recommended in patients who are allergic to penicillin or in whom infections do not respond to other antibiotics. It is important to follow medical instructions for the use of this medication.
Composition
Each Clindamycin tablet contains 300 mg of clindamycin in the form of clindamycin hydrochloride, in addition to excipients such as starch, lactose, and magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
Clindamycin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clindamycin or any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in individuals with a history of antibiotic-associated colitis, especially pseudomembranous colitis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis. It is important to monitor patients who develop diarrhea during or after treatment. Clindamycin can cause severe allergic reactions, so its use should be discontinued at any sign of an adverse reaction. Its use in combination with other antibiotics is not recommended without proper medical supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
