Indications
Ciprofloxacin/Dexamethasone is indicated for the treatment of ocular infections caused by susceptible bacteria, as well as for the management of inflammation in conditions such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, and other inflammatory eye conditions. This medication combines a fluoroquinolone antibiotic (Ciprofloxacin) which inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis and a corticosteroid (Dexamethasone) which reduces inflammation and the local immune response. It is essential to follow the doctor's instructions regarding the frequency and duration of treatment to ensure the medication's effectiveness and minimize the risk of bacterial resistance and side effects. Proper diagnosis and medical follow-up during treatment are recommended.
Composition
Each mL of ophthalmic solution contains Ciprofloxacin 0.3% and Dexamethasone 0.1%. Excipients: sodium chloride, boric acid, purified water, among others.
Contraindications
Ciprofloxacin/Dexamethasone should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in viral or fungal eye infections, as well as in those with a history of severe adverse reactions to other antibiotics of the same class.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of eye diseases, as well as in those who wear contact lenses. Prolonged use of the medication is not recommended due to the risk of side effects, such as increased intraocular pressure or the appearance of secondary infections.
Storage
Store at room temperature, in a dry and cool place, protected from light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
