Indications

Ciprofloxacin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in various locations, including urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, and some skin and soft tissue infections. It is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and is used in the treatment of diseases such as cystitis, pyelonephritis, and some forms of pneumonia. It can also be used in the treatment of complicated infections caused by certain strains resistant to other antibiotics. Administration should be carried out under the supervision of a physician, who will assess the need and duration of treatment based on the patient's clinical condition.

Composition

Each Ciprofloxacin tablet contains 500 mg of ciprofloxacin as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or any other component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of tendinopathy associated with the use of fluoroquinolones, as well as in pregnant and breastfeeding women, unless explicitly indicated by a physician.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of epilepsy, kidney or liver disease, as well as in those taking medications that may affect kidney function. It is important to avoid prolonged sun exposure during treatment, as it may increase skin sensitivity to sunlight. The risk of tendinitis and tendon rupture should be considered, especially in patients over 60 years of age or in those receiving concomitant corticosteroid treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
