Indications
Ciprofloxacin is indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. These include, but are not limited to, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, gastrointestinal infections, and some skin and soft tissue infections. This antibiotic may also be used in the management of complicated infections in immunocompromised patients. It is essential that the use of Ciprofloxacin be based on the identification of the causative organism and its sensitivity, as well as on the physician's clinical judgment.
Composition
Each 5 ml of solution contains 3 mg of ciprofloxacin as the active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, citric acid, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of tendinopathy related to fluoroquinolone use.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of seizures, neurological disorders, or those receiving treatment with medications that may affect the central nervous system. Likewise, the possibility of adverse reactions in patients over 60 years of age or with renal insufficiency should be considered. It is important to avoid direct sunlight exposure and use adequate sun protection.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in a dry place and away from direct light. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
