Indications

Cigmadil is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by clindamycin-susceptible microorganisms. Susceptible infections include:

  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Bone and joint infections.
  • Lower respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia.
  • Intra-abdominal infections.
  • Gynecological and pelvic infections.
  • Treatment of severe forms of acne vulgaris.
  • Prophylaxis of bacterial endocarditis in high-risk patients.
It is important to perform culture and sensitivity tests to confirm the susceptibility of the microorganism to clindamycin before starting treatment.

Composition

Each Cigmadil capsule contains 300 mg of clindamycin (as clindamycin hydrochloride) and excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Cigmadil is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to clindamycin, lincomycin, or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with intestinal colitis or a history of antibiotic-associated colitis.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. During treatment, it is recommended to monitor for the onset of diarrhea and discontinue the medication if it is severe or persistent, as this could indicate pseudomembranous colitis. Additionally, the dose should be adjusted in patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency.

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
