Indications

Cessabit is indicated for the treatment of acute muscle spasms and pain associated with musculoskeletal injuries. It is used in combination with rest, physical therapy, and other non-pharmacological measures. Cyclobenzaprine, its active ingredient, acts as a muscle relaxant that helps reduce muscle tension and pain, facilitating patient recovery. It is useful in conditions such as lower back pain, torticollis, and other muscle disorders that present with painful spasms.

Composition

Each Cessabit tablet contains 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that allow for the formulation and stability of the medication.

Contraindications

Cessabit is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cyclobenzaprine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with a history of recent myocardial infarction, cardiac arrhythmias, and in those with severe hepatic or renal insufficiency. It is also contraindicated for concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Precautions

Caution is advised in patients with a history of seizures, angle-closure glaucoma, hypertension, or cardiovascular disease. Alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment, as it may enhance the sedative effects of the medication. Patients should be monitored for the appearance of adverse effects, especially those who are taking other medications that affect the central nervous system.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
